Greenback Recycling is a young company that is growing rapidly. After only a few months of
operation it is providing a carpet recycling service to several local authority areas.
Within 18 months, Greenback expects to be operating ten sites across the UK, processing
over 1000 tonnes of waste carpet per week.
The organisation is a limited company with two Directors:
Managing Director Kate Atkinson’s expertise is in the logistics and treatment of residential carpet waste,
and the social enterprise she previously founded (Spruce Carpets) continues to operate
in this field in Scotland.
Chairman of Greenback is technology entrepreneur Brendan Hyland, who was founder and
CEO of Kymata, an optical communications start-up funded by a world class syndicate and
exited successfully to Alcatel. Brendan is presently founder, Chairman and CEO of
Wireless Fibre Systems Limited.
